September might be my favorite time of year in West Michigan. The pace slows down just enough to actually enjoy it, downtowns fill up with festivals and farmers markets, and the whole region starts leaning into fall. Here's what's happening this month across several of the communities I serve.

The world's most-attended public art event returns for 17 days, plus a Preview Week Sept 12-17. Free and open to the public throughout downtown. Don't miss the Opening Celebration on Sept 19 with a lantern parade and fireworks, Merchants + Makers Markets every Saturday on Monroe Center, and HalfTime on Sept 26.
